Dawson's Honour At Olympic Call Up
Craig Dawson has said he wasn't expecting to make the final 18 for the Olympic squad, but he's delighted he has done so.
Speaking to the wba.co.uk after Stuart Pearce's squad was announced, the 22 year old defender who exploded onto the U21 scene with his impact upfront of all places, said.
'I didn't really expect it and it's obviously an honour to be named in the squad. I can't wait to meet up with the lads now. Fingers crossed we'll do well. Stuart Pearce is a great manager and we're doing well with the U21s. It's going to be a great experience for me and hopefully one that I'll be able to use at the club.'
It's unfortunate that his pre season plans at Albion will be disrupted by the Olympics, but it's a fantastic opportunity for him and I'm sure we all wish him well.
He has a couple of days left with us, before joining up with the final 18.
