Albion Remaining Patient In Transfer Window

Dan Ashworth has said that all clubs are in the same boat in terms of strenghtening their squads because of the Euros, but the transfer rush will still come.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Ashworth said that the Euros aren't really a problem, it just delays things for an extra 2-3 weeks.

'It doesn't really affect things. It just delays it. Last summer things started happening because there wasn't an international tournament, when there is the transfer window starts to pick up the week later. We have about 6 weeks and July and August is when the majority of people do their business.'

Ashworth adds that whilst survival is again the aim, the securing of Premiership football for the club and fans has to take precedence, but he does think we can continue to improve, and like Roy previously, points to Fulham as proof that clubs our size can aim and achieve higher.

'Is it impossible to go higher? No, I don't think so. I wouldn't view Fulham as a bigger club and they finished 7th to get into Europe one season, so I think it can be done. We are very much aware that we have to build on what we've done.'
