Dan Ashworth and our Academy staff have said they are looking forward to working with returning Darren Moore.
Speaking to wba.co.uk as the announcement was made, Sporting and Technical Director Dan said.
'As a former player and club legend, we thought we'd tap into Darren's vast experience. He knows the area and the club inside out and has a lot to offer our up and coming players. He's embarking on what we firmly believe will be a successful coaching and managerial career. This will hopefully be the start of something special for Darren and we're delighted to give him the opportunity.'
Ashworth also points to previous holdes of the role who have all progressed onto bigger coaching roles such as Craig Shakespeare, Keith Downing and Michael Appleton.
Academy manager Mark Harrison also added that he was looking forward to working alongside Darren.
'We're delighted that Darren has joined the club. He will obviously work closely with James Shan, who has looked after the Under 18s for a couple of seasons and is well aware of the club's structure and philosophy. Darren has obviously got vast playing experience, but what some people don't realise is that he has spent a number of years gaining his coaching qualifications and he is currently finishing off his UEFA Pro Licence. He now needs the opportunity to gain some coaching experience and it's a situation that works for everybody.'
