No Approach For Hughton, Rangnick Favourite

No Approach For Hughton, Rangnick Favourite

With sources close to Birmingham saying that Albion have not made an approach for Chris Hughton, the new favourite for the head coaches position is Ralf Rangrick.

There are mixed messages in the press when it comes to Hughton. Some say Birmingham have not been approached for permission, whilst others say the sticking point would be compensation.

Rangrick is a former Schalke and Hoffenheim manager and Dietmar Hopp, his former employer at Hoffenheim has suggested a move to the Premier League would interest Ralf.

'His battery is full again. I think he gets back soon, he favours a job in the Premier League.'

Rangrick stepped down from his role at Schalke back in September 2011 citing exhaustion.

Following news that Ranieri had reported taken the AS Monaco job yesterday, Ray Wilkins is also out of the frame, having told the press.

'They have decided they are going to give it to someone else. I had a pleasant chat with the guys, nothing heavy, but it won't be going any further.'
