Oh well, it's done now. Roy Hodgson has been appointed as the new manager of the England team - I hope he doesn't regret it.
Roy will remain with the Baggies and see the season out before officially taking charge on May 14, having signed a 4 year contract with the FA.
Speaking to wba.co.uk, Chairman Jeremy Peace responded to the news by saying.
'Roy's appointment as England manager is obviously disappointing news for the Club as we would have liked him to sign a new contract and remain as our head coach, but we understand Roy's desire to take the England job and he will leave us after the Arsenal game with our best wishes. Everyone here would like to wish Roy, the FA and England all the best for Euro 2012 and beyond.'
I really hope it proves to be the right decision for Roy, he doesn't deserve the flak he will get from the press when things don't go to plan - and it will be interesting to see how he deals with the ego's in the England camp.
Our interest now is in who takes over and the bookies favourite appears to be Chris Hughton.
Right sort of man to take the reigns I think, but it'll be interesting to see who is now linked with us.
