Foster - Blatant Penalty

Ben Foster has insisted that Albion should have been awarded a penalty in the derby encounter when Alan Hutton handled the ball in the box, but he thinks overall it was a fair result.

Speaking to wba.co.uk our Man of the Match said.

'I can't believe it wasn't a penalty, it was the most blatant I've ever seen. I was 80 yards away and I could see it was clearly handball.'

Must admit, looking back at them I'm not sure any of the penalty shouts were caste iron for either team. More ball to hand and accidental, that really deliberate attempts in my view.

But you have seen the given, so when they aren't for you it is a bitter pill to swallow.

Despite the penalty shout, Foster does think a draw was fair on reflection - although I do think we had the cleaner chances ultimately.

'I thought it was a good derby and I'd say that a draw was a fair result. Both teams had plenty of good chances and both myself and Shay Given did well to keep the score 0-0 with some good saves. I think that's our fifth clean sheet in six games at home, so I'm very, very happy.'

Just hope we get the chance to keep him come the summer. Boaz Myhill has said he wouldn't mind moving to Birmingham on a permanent deal, so surely a swop - irrespective of their play off bid - suits all parties here as clearly Foster would quite like to stay.
