'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Foster - Luckiest Clean Sheet I've Ever Kept

Ben Foster has said Albion defended like monsters and he thinks that's the craziest clean sheet he's ever kept or saw in football.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the 1-0 victory over Liverpool our on loan goalkeeper said.

'It was crazy! It was the luckiest clean sheet I have ever kept or seen. Midway through the second half, the ball smashed me in the face and it all went a bit blurred and, about five minutes later I got another one in the face! I went out for a punch, missed it completely, Andy Carroll headed the ball and hit me in the face again, I couldn't see a thing. When we got in the changing room afterwards everyone was laughing because it had been total mayhem out there.'

Foster goes onto add though that it was a sterling defensive performance from the team that counted, and all credit to the back four for their efforts.

'We have to be given credit because we worked like crazy. The back four were like monsters, they were absolutely amazing but to get that clean sheet was phenomenal. We were absolutely buzzing afterwards.'

Not only did the victory put another record to rest, Foster knows it was a big moment for the head coach.

'It was huge for the boss, I think everybody can understand the feeling when you go to a former employer and get one over them. The gaffer has no ill feelings towards Liveprool and he's a complete professional but that will be really sweet for the gaffer. You could see that on his face and when he got into the changing room that it meant a lot to him and rightly so. He should be proud, he's done a phenomenal job for the club.'

Fantastic victory for us and that's got to secure our aim of finishing as top dogs now!
