'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hodgson No Liverpool Fear

With half an eye on our record of no victory in 45 years on Liverpool soil, Roy Hodgson has said the team will go there with no fear.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Roy explained that we would go there with a healthy dose of respect, but not fear.

'We don't fear, we respect. We are realistic and not naive, we know the quality of players we're going to be up against. But we don't fear them and we can think back to performances this year when we've done well and to last season when we won.'

Whilst Hodgson admits a win would be delightful, he's not overly concerned given our placing in the league if we don't get something from the game as obviously our aim this season has been achieved.

'It's not as if we're fighting for our lives at the bottom of the table, we don't have any fears in that respect. We've got our contract secured for next season so we can go there and give it our best shot.'

In terms of points we might not have much to play for now, the stated aim of finishing as top dogs looks secure, but with records falling since Roy took charge it would be nice to amend the history books when it comes to Liverpool.
