'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cup Glory For Youngsters

James Hurst believes the future is bright after Albion's youngsters picked up the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Speaking to wba.co.uk James Hurst, the captain on the night, said he thought the crop coming through the Academy could go on to make a big impact at the club in the future.

Speaking on Albion's first success in the competition for 21 years, Hurst said.

'It's good to lift any trophy, it's a great feeling. It was a test of character, we played well for most of the game and we enjoyed winning. We've got a good group of lads here and David Oldfield has done well with us.'

As for the future, having had such a strong reserve campaign aswell, missing out on the title narrowly, Hurst believes it bodes well for the club in the future.

'This group can do good things for the club in the future. Look at Villa and Arsenal, their reserves are now in their first team. The club are looking to invest more in the training facilities for the development squad, so why can't players from this reserve team be in the first team in the next few years?'
