Dawson Pleased With Late Call Up

Dawson Pleased With Late Call Up

Craig Dawson has said he was pleased to get a late call up for the QPR game, as it gave him a chance to make up for the Norwich error.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Dawson explained that the cloud of the Norwich game in his last appearance on home soil was hanging over him, so he was pleased to be able to get back out there again and put in a performance.

'We were midway through the warm up when Jonas pulled up. Keith Downing disappeared then came back out onto the pitch and said 'come on get ready, you're starting'. It was the first time it has ever happened to me but I just went into game mode straight away, you have to get focused.'

Speaking about his 85th minute Norwich error and the QPR performance, he added.

'The Norwich FA Cup game was one of the lowest points of my career, and it's always nice to get a clean sheet - the win is the icing on the cake. Everyone worked hard and it feels a lot better than the last time I played at The Hawthorns. It was nice to put it behind me and move on.'

Mistakes happen and players have to learn to cope with them, getting back out there and putting in a good performance will have done Dawson no harm at all.
