Roy's Response: We Beat The Nerves

Roy's Response: We Beat The Nerves

Roy Hodgson has praised the team for overcoming their nerves to register a safety inspiring 3-0 victory over Blackburn today.

After our four game winless run that has had pundits asking if our heart had gone, if the players had given up and even suggesting we could end up back in the relegation battle, the team put in a sterling performance to grab all three points and effectively more than secure our Premiership survival.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the game the head coach said.

'It was a nervous occasion for us because after a very good February followed by a bad March, we suddenly saw that security margin start to slip away. We were very anxious today as this was going to be the game we were going to win. We don't intend to stop here though, we intend to try and win every one of our six games.'

It should certainly lift spirits and free up confidence for the remaining games now. As Roy says himself, he doesn't expect us to lose all our remaining games and he doesn't expect those below us to win all of theirs, so we are safe now and hopefully we can enjoy the run in.
