Roy Hodgson has praised the club for their decision to invest heavily in order to gain 'Category One' status under the new Elite Player Performance Plan.
As was revealed previously, Albion plan on spending up to £2.5m on our training facilities to bring them up to scratch with an ongoing annual investment of up to £3m for the development of our 9-21 year old players.
Hodgson has said he believes that it's the perfect route for the club to take, as such an investment can only help get us ahead of the curve when it comes to securing and producing the talent of the future.
Speaking to wba.co.uk the head coach said.
'We're all in the process of trying to help the club to grow. I would back anything within the club that goes towards making us a bigger and stronger club. All of these things are very wise ways to spend some of the club's money because it's investing in the future, investing in players and investing in our daily life. I am very much in favour of these things.'
Roy adds that the decision taken by the club to invest in this direction, shows how serious the board are about our long term future.
'I was very pleased to here that Jeremy is going to spend this money on the club because I think it's something that will show everybody the club is serious, not just about the immediate future but also the long term future. I think we are becoming relatively famous for the way we spend money wisely at the club.'
