Captain Holds His Hands Up

Captain Holds His Hands Up

Chris Brunt has been honest about his own form following our loss to Everton, and he admits he hasn't been fit enough or at his best.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the 2-0 loss Brunt explained that despite returning from injury he has been struggling with tonsilitis and he knows his performances should've been better.

'My own form this season hasn't been as good as it could have been and I will be the first to hold my hand up and say that. Fitness wise I'm a little way off where I need to be but that will come. There are a lot of boys in the squad capable of doing everybody else's jobs so you've got to stay on your toes.'

An honest assessment maybe, but Brunt can't shoulder all the blame of recent performance blips and overall the season has been as expected even if players haven't seem to hit the heights they did last campaign.

The aim was to stop yoyoing and solidify ourselves in the Premiership and looking at other teams that aim has practically been reached, so it's difficult to be critical especially as all players have ups and downs.
