Jones Pleased With First Team Return

Billy Jones has said it was great to be back in the first team after his 10 week spell on the sidelines.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Jones, who celebrates his 25th birthday on Saturday, said he was delighted to get back on the pitch and infront of the crowds again after finally recovering from his hamstring issue.

'There's nothing worse than being injured and watching from the sidelines, the only positive was watching the lads doing well and winning. I had a re-tear which was frustrating, as it kept me out for longer than I was expecting, but it's nice to be back now.'

With Jones making his return to the team, he had a fair amount of sympathy for Steven Reid who has recently found himself on the sidelines again.

'What happened to Reidy was unfortunate, he has been operated on and obviously we wish him a speedy recovery. With Reidy getting injured, I suppose it was fortunate that I was coming back to fitness. You are competing for places, but I don't think there's any rivalry as such, you just want the team to do well and Reidy has done very well.'
