Shane Long has said that the Baggies shouldn't give up hope of a European place this season given where we sit in the league.
Speaking to the E&S about his hopes for the remainder of this season and his chest pain scare, our busy little Irishman said.
'It's very tight between 14th and 8th, it would be very easy to finish in the top ten and qualify for Europe. We've definitely got a good enough squad to do that. We can't take our foot off the pedal now.'
I'm not I'd classify it as easy, making the jump to the European places is a little different from sneaking 7/8th but it should certainly be an aim, just not one that disappoints us if we miss out.
As for his health scare recently, possibly bought home harder following what unfortunately happened to Fabrice Muamba, Long played down the significance of it.
'It's something called pericarditis, which is a swelling of the fluid around the heart and it sounds a lot more serious than it is. It was scary stuff at the time, I had a good MOT and I know I'm in good health.'
Was certainly the right decision by the club to leave him out of matches as they did, clearly anything affecting the heart whether it 'sounds more serious' or not, needs to be handled with kid gloves.
