Roy In No Rush Over Andrews

Roy Hodgson has said he is no more going to offer Keith Andrews an extended contract after a couple of good games, than he would write him off after a couple of bad games.

Speaking to Setanta Hodgson said there was no rush to sort out the deal of Andrews who is only contracted until the end of the season, even though he has created a very favourable impression since joining in January.

'Keith has only been here a few weeks and there is a lot of football to be played. I don't think we are going to fall into that trap of if someone has three good games then the world is your oyster, or equally if someone has three bad games it means we don't mention your name again. We won't be judging in those terms. We know what Keith can do and we know his qualities and we're very pleased with them.'

I'd be very surprised if there wasn't a 2/3 year deal on the table within the next month or so given the impact he has had. With a full pre-season behind him playing the way Roy wants, chances are he'll only get better.
