'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Roy's Response: Impressive Resilience

Roy Hodgson has said he was pleased with the resilience showed by the Baggies against Wigan.

Hodgson said that he was pleased to see the team battle to a point with Wigan desperately needing three, and he thought it was one of those games where we could've took our eye off the ball being relatively safe.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Roy said.

'Today was all about the nature of the game, I think the scenario was set that, after Wigan did so well at Norwich last week, this was the time they would beat a West Brom team with not much to play for and get themselves back up the table.'

Moving onto the performance itself, Hodgson added.

'It was up to us to make certain they didn't do that easily - and we achieved that. We've got to take some credit for taking the game so seriously and making life as difficult for them as we could. We looked determined to get our point from the game as they did to get their victory.'
