Brunt Could Be Back For Chelsea

Brunt Could Be Back For Chelsea

Chris Brunt could make a return from injury against Chelsea next weekend, but the Sunderland game has come too soon.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Roy Hodgson confirmed that Brunt would miss this weekend's clash (as will Billy Jones - hamstring) but he could be in contention for the Chelsea encounter.

'Brunt has only trained twice, there was never really any chance of Chris being considered. He's certainly well within his schedule and the prognosis the medical people set, so that is a positive. He might have a chance for the Chelsea game.'

In our other injury issues Hodgson added.

'Scharner unfortunately hasn't recovered. He needs a bit more time but again it's not something we envisage keeping him out for a long period.'

Billy Jones has also pulled his hamstring and the club think he will be out for between a week and a fortnight.
