Allan Heads For Pompey

Michael Appleton has snagged his third Albion loan signing of the season, as the club have allowed new signing Scott Allan out for some game experience.

Speaking to Pompey's official site our former assistant manager was full of praise for the help he has received from the club in terms of support and the players he has loaned.

'I would like to personally thank West Brom for their help on this because they've been prepared to come to our aid when few others have. By letting us have Scott and George they have given us the opportunity to give it a right go between now and the end of the season.'

Not only did George Thorne spend a spell on loan earlier in the season, they also loaned Joe Mattock for a spell.

Appy added about Scott.

'He is a fantastic talent and one for the future. In the position we're in it's a great opportunity for him, but it's also a great opportunity for us because he is a very good talent.'

Allan goes straight into contention for Pompey's game against Leeds this weekend and he has joined on a 28 day youth loan.

Thank you again. This of course is repayment for when we let you beat us on the last day of the season in 2005. Actually it did us a favour as we wanted & got Southampton relegated, so we were all happy. Sadly fortunes have changed drastically & you are likely to be playing them, the scum, next season whilst we might be playing Walsall, if we survive!!!

I have no doubts with Appy in charge and 45 points to play for we will finish well above the relegation places. After all the other teams are there on merit, and one of them has cotterball at the Healy. I would also like to thank the baggies though as our best last games of the season for me are the game at the hawthornes and that at Wigan. Baggy baggy boing boing and play up Pompey

Makes perfect sense to be honest, youngsters getting decent match experience and in the case of Mattock and Thorne, they know Appy well so would've fitted in quicker for you. I'd imagine such deals will become quite regular as long as Appy stays as it benefits you, and we have an outlet for youngsters via him. Fingers crossed you stay up, we can enjoy a few more games and you can let us win more often :-)

Good luck boys, I'm convinced Appy will be good for you, just got to give him the time and allow him some errors as he learns more as the main man. Convinced he'll keep you up though.
