'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All Smiles For Odemwingie

He scored his first league hattrick, he got himself into the record books and even made the kitman's day against Wolves.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Odemwingie was obviously delighted with how his day went. His first hattrick in the Premier League, his second hattrick of his career, the third Baggies player to score a hattrick in the Premier League and a matchball he'll relish.

'It's a day to remember. It was a good team performance, even our centre half goes and scores! I'm very happy to get my first hattrick in the Premier League. I've been dreaming about a hattrick in the league, and on top of that it comes in a derby.'

As for the record books, he is also the first person to score a hattrick in a Black Country derby for 58 years, the last coming from Ronnie Allen in 1954's Charity Shield, and he has no intention of not keeping the matchball this time round.

'My team mates started writing funny stuff on the ball, normally I don't keep balls, but this one is special. I will remember yesterday for the rest of my life.'

And to top things off, this is how he made the kitman's day

'Pat is a very big West Brom fan from well before he even started working for us. I knew this game meant a lot to him and he told me if I scored and ran to him it would make his day, when I scored, I thought I would give him what he asked for. But he won't get the matchball, I'm not that nice!'
