McAuley Looking For Long Boost

McAuley Looking For Long Boost

Gareth McAuley is hoping that Shane Long can return to the pitch and give us a timely boost for the Wolves game.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of the derby game, McAuley said.

'Longy started the season fantastically and we probably do miss his presence. That can get in the minds of the opposition when they think he's going to chase everything down and run the channels all day.'

With being sidelined for the last few games with a troublesome chest issue, McAuley however does warn about rushing Long back too quickly.

It's important but there are a lot of games to go and we need to be patient with Shane, hopefully we can get him back sooner, fit and able to play.'
