No Norwich Debut For Allan

Roy Hodgson has said the FA Cup game against Norwich will come too early for new signing Scott Allan to get his first start, but he might be on the bench.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said of the youngster.

'He is not ready to start because we have a style of play where we need our players to be in tune not just when they're on the ball but when they're not on the ball. On the ball I would say he could go in and play Premier League football but he's got a lot to learn in terms of positional play and what we expect when the ball is lost.'

Hodgson adds that watching him in his reserve outing he was very impressed with his desire and his positivity on the pitch, and he'd rather introduce him slowly and ease him in to the first team than throw him straight in.
