Hodgson Won't Take Cup Risks

Roy Hodgson has said he won't take any risks with players in the FA Cup and he won't risk losing key players to injury with how the fixture list is lined up.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said that our league fixtures against Fulham and Swansea take priority over the cup.

'The difference between the last cup game where we played Cardiff is that we only had one game per week then and whatever happened in that game we knew we had a full week to prepare before our next league game. Now we are looking at only three days so I will not be taking risks. So I'm very much looking at the squad as a whole and I'm looking at the players who have been bearing the brunt of the work we've had to do and maybe give them a break at the weekend.'

Roy obviously has existing injury concerns to deal with as Scharner remains a doubt, but Reid and Jones could be fit for Norwich and Olsson has suffered no ill effects with his calf injury.
