Odemwingie To Face First Team Fight
Roy Hodgson has admitted that Peter Odemwingie has a fight on his hands when it comes to the first team due to how well everybody else is challenging for his previously, automatic position.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said the continued form of Shane Long and Zoltan Gera's introduction against Bolton gives him a bit of a selection headache - especially as Cox is still chomping at the bit, and Somen Tchoyi hasn't let us down when picked.
'In our dreams at the start of the season we saw them both playing, but we haven't realised that dream yet. He might struggle to get back in the team because also Tchoyi has not done badly, Cox is a current Ireland international and Fortune has not let the club down. It's something that gives me great hope for the season.'
It hasn't been the best of campaigns for Odemwingie so far, a number of niggly injuries have led to sporadic form and a loss of confidence, but hopefully he'll be back firing on all cylinders shortly and we'll reap the benefits of that.
