Hodgson Talks Planned For New Year

It has been confirmed that Roy Hodgson will sit down with the club and discuss his contract situation in the New Year.

Hodgson joined the club initially until June 2012, and Dan Ashworth said the club are clearly aware of the contract situation and all parties will sit down soon to hammer things out.

'We're fully aware of Roy's contract situation, as is Roy. He's quite relaxed about it. We speak quite regularly about plans for next year and we've had some vague discussions about the fact we've got some important fixtures coming up and that we'll sit down in the New Year.'

From the remainder of the interview it sounds pretty clear that Hodgson won't be committing to a long term, 3-4 year contract despite his success since joining. It looks more likely that it'll be a rolling year to year deal struck that can take into account everything, not least Roy's tender years and his own desire to continue - which there will come a point where he wants to make that decision every 12 months.
