'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McAuley Delighted With Olsson Partnership

Gareth McAuley has hailed his centre half partner Jonas Olsson, and said they can only get stronger.

Speaking to wba.co.uk McAuley said he was pleased with how his career was going now at the Albion, and that he's sure he is developing a perfect understanding with the big Swede.

'We both talk and try to organise, which is good. It feels quite comfortable. We have only played around seven competitive games but like any partnership, the more you play, the better things get.'

Gushing praise at Olsson, the former Ipswich man added.

'Jonas is a winner, he's driven and wants to win games. That's good because it helps everyone else around him.'

It's clear from the full interview that McAuley has a lot of praise for all his defensive partners as he's slotted nicely into Premiership football at the tender age of 31.

With his international experience it's no great surprise to see him find his feet so quickly.
