'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Olsson Delighted With Villa Goal

Jonas Olsson was delighted to get back on the scoresheet against Aston Villa, and he believes our threat from set pieces could be a huge weapon this season.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the centre half said.

'It was nice to score - finally!'

Olsson's last goal was 13 months ago in our 3-1 derby victory against Blues, so it's been a while coming.

'You always want to score a few goals every season, it's more than a year since I scored but it should've been two. My second chance was almost easier to put in I think.'

On our threat from set pieces, he added.

'Both goals came from set pieces, it's a good weapon to have, and we deserved to win. Brunty had some good delivery and hats off to him.'

As for the controversial dismissal of Villa's youngster Chris Herd - who Villa have appealed against today, Olsson said.

'Herd stepped back and then hit me on my thigh. If you ask him, he will think it is a bit harsh, but I think he will agree it was a foul. It was a needless thing for him to do. The linesman saw it and credit to him for taking a decision like that.'
