Albion have revealed that a deal in the region of £3 million has been accepted by Queens Park Rangers for their Nigerian international defender Danny Shittu.
Albion have been looking to agree a deal with QPR for the past month and the defender will be travelling to The Hawthorns tomorrow to discuss terms.
If Albion agree personal terms with Shittu then QPR will receive an initial £1.5 million with the other half in installments. QPR have also negotiated a 10% sell-on clause for any future sale.
If Shittu agrees personal terms with the Baggies he is expected to be part of the squad for their trip to Cardiff City next Tuesday evening.
In other news Albion midfielder Jason Koumas could still be on the verge of a move to Cardiff but is not expected to feature in the game at Ninian Park next week.
Both clubs are thought to be close to a deal taking the Welsh international back to Cardiff, as soon as this is official there will be a national holiday declared for all Albion fans as it has turned into the longest transfer ever and we will all be glad to see the back of him.
Albion boss Bryan Robson is stepping up his hunt for a striker after the news that Manchester United do not want to let Giuseppe Rossi go out on loan.
So who are Albion chasing? A number of names have been mentioned including David Nugent at Preston,Freddy Eastwood at Southend, Florent Sinama Pongolle at Liverpool and Neil Mellor at Wigan just a small selection of names mentioned.
