Faith Will Get Odemwingie Back To Best

Faith Will Get Odemwingie Back To Best

Michael Appleton believes that sticking with Peter Odemwingie and showing some faith will soon have him back in top gear and on top form.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Appleton said the best way of getting Odemwingie back to his best was to bare with him and allow his confidence to return.

'Maybe Peter is trying a bit too hard, it's not a bad trait to have. You'd much rather have someone working their socks off to try and get their form back than someone not really bothered. But if he keeps working hard and doing the simple things well I'm sure that something will happen.'

Appy does just think it's a blip and even though Odemwingie isn't on top form, he is still a danger on the pitch.

'When you have that kind of firepower and pace then you're keeping the opposition stretched all the time so, no matter how well you're playing or not, then the opposition will still know he is a danger. He is getting chances and he will score. Once you have a player gaining confidence, then you have a dangerous tool.'

It has been an off colour start to the season for him, but he'll come good. I don't think there is anybody who doubts that.
