'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Long Praises Gaffer

Shane Long has praised Roy Hodgson for his treatment of him since joining and he believes that the gaffer has been key to his early settling in and sparkling form.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Long said that Hodgson's support since he first walked through the door had been phenomenal, and feeling so wanted especially, it was really easy for him to fit in and settle down.

'It's been really easy for me to settle in, I'm lucky really because I'm here because the manager wants me. That's important too and has helped.'

Long also knows that his scoring start to Albion life has made things easier, helped the banter in the dressing room and obviously, helped him enter the fans hearts quickly.
