Shane Longing For International Commitments

Shane Longing For International Commitments

Shane Long has said he is ignoring the Black Country Derby banter when he meets up with the Wolves Irish contingent, because he's determined to make his mark for Eire.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of the Republic's games against Andorra and Armenia, the striker said.

'I'm looking forward to it. We can finish fourth or top. The first game is massive but we're looking forward to it - they're exciting times. Hopefully we can find ourselves where we want to be. On the Tuesday after the Armenia game there might be some banter with the Wolves lads but before then we'll be concentrating on the games.'

Seeing him that focused on the Republic matches, should also show how focused he is for our games and despite no doubt forging a good friendship with the likes of Doyle, Hunt and Foley, I'd bet there's nothing Long will want to do more than put his mates to the sword when he faces off against them.
