Everton Squad Selection Headache

Everton Squad Selection Headache

Michael Appleton has admitted that the Baggies camp has been struck by a dose of the flu, and preparations for Everton in the Cup have been hampered by it.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of tomorrow's 8pm kick off with the Toffees, Appleton said.

'Roman Bednar and Gabriel Tamas were initially suffering with flu symptoms. Shame Long has also got some symptoms and has not trained over the last couple of days. We're hoping, fingers crossed, come Thursday or Friday he will have recovered. There are a few of the other boys that have sniffles but they're not at the point where they are unable to train.'

Zoltan Gera will also miss this match, not quite being fit enough yet.

'The game has come too soon for Zoltan, he's desperate to get back but when he does come back we have to make sure he's 100% ready.'
