'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hodgson Defends Tamas Over Elbow Incident

Norwich manager Paul Lambert has revealed that striker James Vaughan has been taken to hospital and will see a plastic surgeon following a clash with Gabriel Tamas.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Lambert explained the seriousness of the facial injury received when Vaughan caught Tamas' elbow late in the game.

'James has gone to see the plastic surgeon at the minute, and it is a bad one. It has gone straight through the lip and and they just can't stitch it up. Hopefully we will sort it tonight, and we will have to see how he is.'

Roy added.

'I looked at it, and as he turns, Tamas catches him with his elbow, but I am 100% convinced it is unintentional. It was unfortunate, but it does not make it any better for Vaughan, it's still a painful blow.'

All the best James, never like to see a player with a serious injury after a game.

Just seen it....I've seen players walk for that. I don't turn with my elbow that high.

Cheers Baggy Boy - after all the rubbish I had to listen from Chelsea fans, and the Chelsea manager, after our last one (yes, we agree it was a penalty. Doesn't change the fact that the guy was already halfway to the floor before he got to Ruddy's hand), it's nice to know there are fans out there willing to be honest. Thought it was a good game yesterday, always seems to be between us two, and I reckon you'll cause teams a lot of trouble with Odemwingie and Long up front. Good luck for the rest of the season.
