Albion Stronger Than Last Term

Roy Hodgson believes that following our summer acquisitions Albion are a much stronger squad than last season.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said added that it wasn't just those we had signed, but also importantly the work the club had done in keeping our star players that has made the difference.

'You are always pleased to see the back of the transfer window, I feel the most important thing that Dan Ashworth has achieved in this window is making sure we didn't lose players who did so well for us last season. We also made sure that the couple of serious targets we had got done.'

Whilst obviously Hodgson would've liked to have done more in the window, and had a few other things work out, he's also pleased that fringe players have been moved on to the benefit of both the club and the player who wanted first team football, because it's created space for some of our youngsters to continue their development.

'In general, we've got to be pleased with the window, not least in the sense that some of the players that weren't getting a game have moved on. That has cleared the way now for the George Thornes, Billy Joneses and Craig Dawsons of this work to push their noses forward.'
