Fulham Rejected Baggy Bid For Baird

Fulham Rejected Baggy Bid For Baird

Talksport have said that Fulham rejected deadline day bids from Albion and Blackburn for versatile defender Chris Baird.

With Pablo Ibanez making the switch and everything that had been said over the summer, I think we all knew an incoming deal had fallen down late in the day, and it's look like that was for Fulham's out of favour defender.

The reason for them turning down the offers is said to because Martin Jol wanted cover due to the Europa League matches the club have this season.

Yup reasonable reason, wonder how much that reason may have changed though if we'd have tried for a permanent move? Possibly I'd guess maianb, Roy would've wanted him for a reason and if he's not in Jol's plans and they don't need the extra cover because of Europe, a simple loan deal would remove him from the wage bill at least wouldn't it.
