'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cox Not Looking For A Loan

Simon Cox has insisted he is happy to stay and fight for a place in the squad and not take the easy option of going out on loan.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail the Republic of Ireland international said he appreciates the competition for places that Albion now have upfront and it's down to him to prove to the gaffer that he should be playing and picked ahead of our other forwards.

'The reason I'm not playing is because we've got so many good players, it just isn't my time at the moment.'

Cox adds that he's a patient sort of guy and it's going to be a while before he would contemplate leaving to get first team football.

'That's a long time down the road and I'm happy to fight for my place.'
