Roy Hodgson has said he is proud of the players for the start they have made to this season, and yet again he's disappointed we couldn't take a point at Chelsea.
Clearly though, being disappointed at the result, has no baring on our performance, commitment or the simple fact that on another day against Chelsea we could've been 2-0 up and taken maximum points.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said he did feel hard done by as the last two results don't reflect to him, what we deserved from the games.
'For 60 minutes we played very well. When you're up against a top team, you're always going to come under some pressure. Unfortunately our left back got caught, which led to their first goal, although the players felt aggrieved that the referee allowed the game to go on after Lampard went down in the box just before Anelka scored. We also didn't defend well enough for their second goal.'
Speaking more about the last two games, Hodgson added.
'On another day, we could have come away with a result and one could be forgiven for feeling harshly treated in the past couple of games. We've given last season's top two a run for their money and even a little bit of a fright. I thought we were a constant threat, the team was hard working and very disciplined, but you get punished at the very highest level for errors you make.'
