'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Long Would Love United Debut

Shane Long is hoping to get his Albion debut in tomorrow's season opener against Man U.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the Irishman said.

'I talked to the gaffer about how the club works and his plans for the season, and I hope we can finish higher. There were a few other clubs interested in me, but to be fair West Brom were there early doors and they've been really keen to get me ever since. Hopefully I can repay their faith in me.'

Speaking about United on Sunday he added.

'Hopefully we can hit the ground running, facing Manchester United on your debut is what dreams are made of, I'm really looking forward to it. I feel ready to start and I'm wililng and ready to go.'
