'If It's Football, It's Vital'

David Oldfield Joins West Brom

WBA have confirmed that David Oldfield has joined the club as our new reserve/development coach.

The 43 year old left his post as youth/reserve team coach for Peterborough last week, and the club have moved quickly to get him in position for the start of the new season.

The role of the development squad, and Oldfield's position will be in effect a finishing school to help players in the 18-21 bracket bridge the gap between youth/reserve team football and our first team.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Dan Ashworth said of the appointment.

'I am delighted to welcome David to the club, e was performing a similar role at Peterborough and he has a great reputation for developing young players.'
