'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shorey Hails The Baggies Next Generation

Left back Nicky Shorey has hailed the impact of the younger lads who joined the club on our tour of the US.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the 30 year old said he was very impressed with the talent and mental attitude of the youngsters who joined the tour, and he believes they will go on to become Albion's next generation of players.

George Thorne, Sam Mantom, Paul Downing and Chris Wood were all drafted into the first team squad for the pre season tour.

'We've got some good young players coming through. That's hopefully the next generation for West Brom. They've all got good attitudes and they're all good footballers in their own right. They've all impressed me in the way they conduct themselves with the senior players, they're very respectful but not over awed. They mix in well and that's a credit to the coaching staff. They have shown them the right ways on and off the pitch.'

Very high praise indeed for the youngsters there, and it's good to read that behaviourally they are spot on because that can only mean they are focused on improving and becoming the best players they can be.
