Roy's Response: Helpful To Pass To Colleagues

Roy's Response: Helpful To Pass To Colleagues

Roy Hodgson's after match thoughts were tinged with a touch of sarcasm following our 3-2 victory over Portland Timbers.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said.

'In the second half we realised that the best way to win a football match is to pass the ball to the players in your team and not the opposition.'

That's one way of getting his point over I suppose!

Hodgson adds that Portland played very well indeed, but compared to our own standards the first half was very poor indeed. Hodgson does give the players a bit of leeway given the 4G pitch in saying.

'The players were, maybe if I'm being kind, trying to come to terms with the pace of the field.'

For the second half though, Roy was obviously far more impressed with our efforts.

'In the second half we started passing the ball to each other, moving better and creating goal chances. Luckily 2-2 was transformed into a 3-2 win with such a magnificient strike at the end of the game. A shot like that deserves to win any game, those strikes you see once in a blue moon.'
