'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Odemwingie Aims To Top Last Season's Record

Peter Odemwingie has said he aims to top last season's goal haul of 15, as he believes turning 30 means he's now at his peak.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Odemwingie said he was determined to prove he wasn't a one season wonder in the Premier League and that there would be no better way of proving that then by beating his scoring record from last season.

'I think this is the best period of my career so far, last season was the proof of that and I think these coming few years will also be very good. The older a player is the more intelligent he becomes in football and he can be more productive, so I will see myself a target of beating my own record again.'

I hope he does and beats Didier Drogba, Gervinho, and the other african players this impending season. That's funny given the fact that i'm a chelsea fan but i'm also Nigerian and it's been quite a while since Nigerian won the African Player of the year award (i think the last was King Kanu), scoring a lot of goals would aid Peter's cause. Plus- i'd prefer if the bulk of our (chelsea's) goals come from our 50 million man, you know who i mean right? I'm anticipating a tough match when we meet and i hope the better team wins, preferably us. No offence meant!

No offence taken as I'd be delighted to see us take 3 points from you :-) It would be nice for you if Torres could find the net ocassionally wouldn't it lol but Peter should be fine and I'm sure he'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season again.
