Hargreaves Talks Next Week?

Sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth has said that talks could begin with Owen Hargreaves as early as next week.

Apparently the Baggies were the first club to speak to the 30 year old and express their interest, as the Albion made the first move back when Sir Alex Ferguson said they would be releasing the former England midfielder before the end of last season.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Ashworth said.

'Our contact did not come off the back of Owen's YouTube video, we'd made contact well before that. Make no mistake, Owen is a fantastic player, obviously he has had a few medical issues, but we would be delighted to get a fit Owen.'

Ashworth continues by saying that Hargreaves is based in the States at the minute, so he's hopeful of setting up a meeting shortly to see if a deal can be done.
