Shittu Signing To Replace Davies?

Bryan Robson has identified QPR`s Nigerian international defender Danny Shittu as the man that he wants to shore up the Baggies defence but the news has left Albion fans wondering if this means that Curtis Davies is set to join Arsenal before the start of the Championship season.

Shittu has been linked with a move to the Premiership over the last couple of months with Premier League new-boys Watford rumoured to be interested but Albion look to have won the race to sign the powerful defender.

Shittu is a tall, powerful and quick central defender who is good in the air and solid in the tackle, there is no doubting that he would be an asset to the Baggies but at what cost. Shittu is thought to command a fee around the £3 million mark and is almost certainly a replacement for Arsenal bound Davies.

If Albion have agreed a fee with Arsenal it is thought that the deal would involve Arsenal youngster Theo Walcottjoining the Baggies on loan as part of the deal to take Davies to The Emirates Stadium. Walcott could prove to be more important than any cash we would make in the deal for Davies, the former Southampton striker has proved he is a special talent and at this level he would excel with first-team experience and provide Albion with the attacking flare they need.

More news as it appears on the potential signing of Shittu and the Davies and Walcott saga involving Arsenal.

could work out to be a good deal for all clubs involved

Walcott isn't going anywhere. If Wenger had intended to loan him out he would have given him straight back to the Saints in an attempt to slash the price. Also, Walcott saw Arsenal as the best option not only because of their ability to develop youth players, but also because he didnt want to move too far north.

Im sorry but curtis's growing reputation will prove he's to big for your club to hold onto , just as he was for us , we knew it ,you know it ,So get as much as you can for him as we benefit from the sell on clause, Curtis will be a future England captain,

Talk is ,we'll bag a £million if he goes from you for £8million ,which aint bad for a kid who was chucked out by MK Dons and had to write to every team in the country for a trial ,Luton being the only one's who liked what they saw.....Makes you wonder how many other Curtis's are out there waiting for a chance ? Write to M.Newell Kenilworth Road Luton ,please.
