Thorne Withdrawn, Hurst Called Up - England U20's

West Bromwich Albion have withdrawn George Thorne from the England U20 World Cup squad, after Roy Hodgson decided to include him in his first team pre season plans.

A statement on wba.co.uk said.

'Albion have regrettably withdrawn George from the England squad for the under 20 World Cup in Colombia after he was included in Hodgson's first team pre season plans.'

It's a shame he will miss out on the experience, but it's the perfect chance for him to build on his debut against Newcastle last season and work his way into Hodgson's plans for the forthcoming season.

However, fellow youngster James Hurst has now been drafted into the same squad after initially being placed on standby.

Gonzalo Jara has been included in Chile's final 23 man squad for the Copa America, and won't be involved in our pre season trip to America.
