Scharner Has Euro Ambitions

Scharner Has Euro Ambitions

With Roy Hodgson talking about survival again for next season, Paul Scharner has said he believes that Albion can aim for much more than simply staying in the Premier League.

Speaking to the E&S the midfielder said that if the board back the manager correctly over the summer, he sees no reason why we can't aim to finish in the European places next season.

'I would say we could aim for Europe next season, it's possible. The manager has the experience and we have the potential in the team. If we can keep our focus for longer periods for next season there is a massive chance to get big success.'

Although it would be nice, and it's certainly not beyond the realms of belief that it could be achieved, I do think next season thinking of a top 6 finish is probably pushing the boat a little too far and too soon.
