'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robbo signs 3-year contract

Albion left-back Paul Robinson has signed a new three-year contract at The Hawthorns ending any speculation of a move back to the Premiership.

Robinson is an integral part of Bryan Robson`s plans and he is a firm fans favourite, his performances for the club have been fantastic and he is such an important part of our plans.

Robinson told the official site, "I'm really pleased to sign a new deal and I just want to get my head down now and get on with my football.

'I had a decision to make in the summer because a few clubs were looking at me and Watford came in for me, which was rejected straight away.

'I spoke to my family and I want to give it another push to get back in The Premiership with Albion.

'It's always hard to take when you get relegated for fans, the players and their families.

'But I believe we've got a good squad and if the gaffer and chairman keep rejecting offers for our players, as they have been, I feel we've got a great chance of going straight back up next season.'

Let`s hope that others take the same steps as Robinson and commit their futures to the club, Robinson is such an important player for us and will be very important for us this season.

So that only leaves the futures of Tomasz Kuszczak, Curtis Davies, Zoltan Gera and Nathan Ellington still to be resolved, oh well not long until the end of August, let`s just hope Jeremy Peace has his hard hat on, it's going to be a tough couple of months.
