'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Scharner Thanks Team For Saving His Blushes

Paul Scharner has thanked his team mates for pulling off the victory against Villa, despite his ill timed removal from the game.

Speaking on wba.co.uk Scharner admitted he could have no complaints about his first red card in English football, but he was pleased that the team managed to secure the victory despite his sending off.

'I think it was a second yellow and that was maybe the wrong time to get my first red card, I have no complaints. The team were absolutely brilliant, it didn't bother them when I got sent off and we fought back and I thinkin the end we deserved to win.'

It definitely could've gone pear shaped after his dismissal, but we dug in well and coped with everything thrown at us...the rest as they say is history.
