Chris Brunt is looking forward to our derby double header over the next few weeks and would be delighted to secure our survival by breaking our hoodoo against the Villa, and then backing that up with a win against the Wolves.
Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of the match, Brunt admitted whilst 3 points would be lovely and see us clear of the so called magical 42 points mark, he'd be delighted to see us end our 26 year wait for a win and put another tick in the local pride column.
'Local pride is a big thing but most important for us is to make sure we're in the Premier League next season. If we can win on Saturday and keep us in for another year, then that's what we want to do. We want to get it done as soon as possible.'
It would be fantastic for the Baggies to end that particular stat, especially as we are righting quite a few wrongs this season.
Arsenal - 27 years last September, Everton - 31 years last November, Liverpool - 30 years this month.
To top that off with the Villa would be a fantastic achievement given how we've struggled this season and Brunt adds.
'It would be nice to put that right, we've put a few of those statistics to bed this season and it would be nice to turn the Villa one over aswell.'
You aren't alone in that thought Chris.
