'If It's Football, It's Vital'

And Now For Something Completely Different

Michael Appleton has praised Peter Odemwingie for giving the Baggies a completely different dimension during games.

In saying that Odemwingie gives us 'something completely different' I doubt he meant in a Monty Python, Ministry of Funny Walks way - that could just be the mood I'm in today - but there's no doubting that Odemwingie's finishing this season, especially given where we have sat in the league for so long, has been nothing short of amazing.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Appy was delighted to see Peter beat Rob Earnshaw's record of 11 in the league, as he bagged his 12th against Chelsea, and he believes his attitude and willingness to learn has led to a very smooth transition to life in the Premiership.

'He's been a big plus for us because what he's been is something completely different to what we've had in the past. He's got raw pace and it scares the life out of defenders and when you are playing upfront on your own, you have to have a good work rate and he works hard in the right areas. We've been delighted with him.'

The question remains now how high can Odemwingie get in the scoring charts in our remaining games. Peter has said previously he's targeting his own personal best of 15, and with the form he's in at the moment and aside from the Chelsea hiccup, the form we are in - you wouldn't bet against him getting there would you.
